How NOT to build a kit - Part 3

The following six pictures show the two cab ends and the cab units that fit within them. Again we have painting before construction is finished. Not much has been done to the resin ends other than spattering them with paint and gluing on some nickel silver items that were not bent correctly in the first place so they are starting to lift at the edges.

The internal cab units are a little more serious. One has been painted and the other part constructed. From what I can tell not everything has been soldered but it’s difficult to tell what glue has been used. I have not even bothered to check to see if the cabs are accurate as they are both going to have to be stripped down anyway. If the seats and the castings on the rear bulkhead do not survive this process I can replace them with parts from a Modern Motive Power – Diesel Locomotive Detailing Set.

The only parts the builder has not attempted are the main roof panels and the outer bogie frames. The roof parts are still on the frets as supplied and the bogie side frames were all still bagged up. The under floor assembly between the two bogies has been attempted but is not complete.
