Above bogie frame detail - rear. A small modification here is the addition of a 1mm dia brass rod through the bogie frame at the fixing point for the upper and lower brake detail. I attached the rod to the arm first then passed it through the frame but it is possible to pass the rod through the frame and then attach the parts. If using this method leave about 0.75mm sticking out above the frame. At this stage it doesn’t matter how much sticks out below the frame, the more there is the easier it is to thread the lower brake assembly on to it. Beware that the arms and the tensioning springs are handed, also note the angle that the adjuster stay sits at. The adjuster stay is soldered to the arm, the other end is retained in the bogie frame by drilling a hole into the frame at the appropriate angle. The guard that slides over the arm and is fixed to the inner edge of the bogie cross member needs to sit tight into the corner of the outer frame and cross member. If you over did the soldering of these two items you will be filing at this point. There should be enough space left on the end of the arm to attach the brake hanger at a latter stage.
